Eid and Ramadan
Eid is a festival all Muslims enjoy. But during Ramadan we tend to forget the sanctity of the holy month and simply concentrate of the festival of Eid. Just look at the shopping centres -- they are bursting to their seams with shoppers buying expensive clothes, jewellery and more. At the same time, there are so many people living below the poverty level in the country. I am not even talking about the beggars on the streets. I am talking about the poor masses all over the country, farmers who till the soil for our foodgrains, but who suffer from malnutrition and others like them. We should really adopt the spirit of Ramadan and instead of spending mindlessly in excess, try to offer meaningful help to the poor.
