Experiences in the electronic media
Ekyshey Theke CSB by Tushar Abdullah
Reviewed by Mustakim Shadhin
Journalist Tushar Abdullah began his career with the print media and later turned to the electronic. He recently came up with a book entitled Ekushey Theke CSB [From Ekushey to CSB], launched at the book fair this year and published by Shomoy Prokashon. Ekushey Theke CSB chronicles the life of a journalist, the ups and downs, professional dilemmas and a whole lot of memories. Though he writes from his own experience, Tushar Abdullah's book reflects the professional life of many journalists. The book may be of interest to the lay reader, but it will be of particular interest to the journalist community. The book is so realistic and blunt in its approach that many members of the media fraternity apprehend unpleasant repercussions for the writer. Perhaps his youth has lent him this sense of bravado. The chapters of the book include Bidai Ekushey Swagata ATN Bangla (Farewell Ekushey, Welcome ATN Bangla), ATN Banglar Amal Nama (About ATN Bangla). CSB: Taka Urey Batashey (CSB: Money all around), etc. Tushar Abdullah's picture on the inner flap of this 219-page book is significant: he stand behind bars. The book costs 250 taka. |
